All Limmud events are conceived, led and implemented by our team of 500+ dedicated volunteers. This volunteer culture is at the heart of Limmud's ethos.
If you would like to be part of the dynamic, active and dedicated team bringing you any of our events, please do get in touch: we are after volunteers for the Conference team, we are already interested in people for next year's Limmudfest, and there are also the Regional Limmud teams.

Organisation - Site Finder
As an organisation we are looking to build up a database of potential sites that we can use for a variety of events. We currently have a list of potential sites and this role will involve contacting the different places and building up a database of the related details so that we can locate the perfect site to make the perfect events. This role is administrative and may involve speaking to site managers.
Time required – this role can take place in your own time and to your own timetable over the next 2 months.
Limmud Fest - Marketing / Communications Chair
We are looking for a volunteer to help show the community the amazing event that is Limmud Fest and to persuade them to come along! The role will include sending e-mails to potential participants; placing adverts in newspapers and magazines; and finding novel ways to sell Limmud Fest to the world.
You don't need to have marketing experience, we will guide you through the process, and we are looking for someone with enthusiasm and an ability to commit some time!
Time required – weekly and regular in the run up to the event.
Limmud Fest - Catering Managers
We need volunteers to help run one (or more) of the mealtimes at Fest. Guided by the catering chairs, you will manage a team of "front of house" volunteers to serve the food to our hungry participants! Experience of catering is not required, the main aspect of this role is organisational / logistical and enthusiasm!
Time required – this will take place for a few hours at Limmud Fest with one or two meetings beforehand.
Limmud Conference - Young Limmud Programming Coordinator
Work with the Young Limmud and main Conference Programming Teams to create an innovative Young Limmud timetable.
Time required – regular involvement from September/October until conference as well as on the event itself.
Limmud Conference - Arts and Culture Track Co-Chair
Work with the existing team to prioritise and invite presenters to speak on the following topics: arts and crafts, cultural history, food, comedy, literature, music workshops , poetry, storytelling, visual arts, music, dance, drama, comedy, film, theatre. The co-chairs are responsible for budgets, meeting programming deadlines, timetabling and looking after presenters at conference.
Time required – regular involvement from now until Conference as well as on the event itself

Limmud Conference Nursery Staff
Limmud is looking for Nursery Staff to work at Conference 2011.
Conference Nursery cares for participants aged from 3 months to 4 years and provides a vital and much appreciated service to families attending with small children. The nursery has capacity for up to 60 children and we are looking for lively, dedicated carers to make up the Nursery team.
The vacancies include:
Room Leaders (3 positions) – You will be responsible for up to 20 children. You will organise activities, liaise with parents and will head up a team of part time nursery workers. You will need to have an NVQ 2 or 3 Childcare Qualification or QTS and significant recent work experience within an early years setting.
Assistant Room Leaders (3 positions) – You will assist the Room Leaders in caring for up to 20 children, organising activities and liaising with parents. You will need to have significant recent childcare experience. A relevant childcare qualification is desirable but not essential.
Art Teacher (1 position) – You will be responsible for planning and running daily art sessions for children of all ages in the nursery. You will need to have significant recent experience in a similar role, within an early years setting. A relevant childcare qualification or QTS would be very desirable but not essential.
All positions entitle the job holders to a free place at Conference and some have additional remuneration.
