Shabbat Book

Shabbat book coverThis year, Limmud has launched an entirely new Shabbat Handbook. The original Limmud Shabbat Handbook was produced for Limmud Conference 1997 when, for the first time, Conference spanned a Shabbat and several thousand copies have been used over the years.

The new Shabbat Handbook is useable and suitable both for use at Limmud events and in private around people's own Shabbat tables. It will contain the full Bircat Hamazon (Grace after Meals), a section dealing with the eight home-based core rituals of Shabbat, namely Candle lighting, Shalom aleichem/ Eishet chayil, Blessing children, Friday night kiddush, Handwashing and hamotzi, Shabbat day kiddush, Seudah Shlishit and Havdalah.

The Shabbat Handbook also contains one of the widest selection of Shabbat and general Jewish songs available. However, the new Shabbat Handbook will also contain entirely new essay material, designed to throw light on the various different stages of the Shabbat experience, along with insights into what Shabbat means to a range of Limmud participants and activists.

Limmud is uniquely placed to draw together the most eclectic and impressive range of essayists, providing a remarkable and enlivening resource for any Shabbat table or educational event. Order your copy of the new Shabbat Handbook now by contacting the office.
