Fest by any means
This year we challenge you to find an unique way to get to Fest. How creative can you be? Hike, by yourself, or with our Treks. Join our group cycle from London to Windlesham. Sail up the coast from Brighton. Hang-glide from the nearest hill. Take the train or catch a coach. The more adventurous the better. We’ll provide learning resources for the way, and greet you with open arms at the finish line. Get in touch if you’d like more information.
Fest by foot
We’re organising two Trek adventures before Fest begins, with overnight camping in the hills nearby.
If you want to enjoy the countryside and learn amongst the hills, then Hiking Trek is ideal. It starts on Thursday 26 August, until Friday afternoon 27 August.
Fancy more of a challenge? Extreme Trek is for you! Push yourself to new physical and spiritual levels. It starts a day earlier, running from 25 to 27 August and is for adults and older teens (16+) only. (Particularly capable and experienced teenagers who have demonstrated similar physical challenges and are under 16 will be considered for Extreme Trek if accompanied by a parent.)
Fest by bike
Fancy joining a group of Limmud Fest participants who have organised an independent cycle ride through 60 miles of gorgeous scenery? Contact us for more info. We’ll take your bags while you can hit the open road. And look out on the website for our sociable group training sessions – meet fellow Festniks and get fit all at the same time! NB: even though this cycle ride is to a Limmud event, the cycle ride itself has been wholly organised by a group of individual Limmud participants and is not a Limmud project and therefore the Limmud organisation, staff and volunteers have no involvement and no responsibility for this ride.
Fest by machine
Coaches will leave from Golders Green station in London at the following times:
Thursday 26th: 09:30 / 14:30 / 19:30
Friday 27th: 09:30
and returning on Monday 30th, leaving Windlesham at 14:00
The nearest railway stations to Windlesham are Worthing and Pulborough. Both are around an hour and twenty minutes from London Victoria. Local buses run from Worthing to Windlesham House School, roughly every half hour on weekdays and every hour on Sundays and Bank Holidays, although the last buses leave Worthing before 19:00. See http://www.travelinesoutheast.org.uk for detailed timetables.
