Young Limmud
– The kids of today are the Limmudniks of tomorrow!
Here at Cambridge we know well that the school-kids of today are the students of tomorrow and the parents of the day after – and we have planned the Cambridge Day Limmud to be a perfect day out for ALL the family as a family.
Young Limmud is designed for anyone between the age of 3–16, whatever their Jewish education or affiliation or experience.
There are different age bands with separate sessions, so that everyone will be with people of their own age throughout the day.
We know that all Jewish kids are above average, and that’s why we have an exceptional programme for them all.
For the older kids who are not quite there yet for the adult Limmud, we have a wonderful mixture of some special intellectual stimulation with exceptional educators, some extraordinary music making with Bible Rap, the New York group, who will be making a special Cambridge Limmud Rap for performance by the kids on the day, and some fun activities from hummus making to sport. Kids don’t want to be lectured to…it’s all about participating…
For the younger kids, there are wonderful, experienced educators, with great class-room know-how, story tellers from Israel, New York and England, hummus making, games, olive oil making, games, and their own Klezmer fest.
It is really important for parents to know that their kids are being looked after all day – and having a great time all day. Young Limmud is in the same building as adult Limmud, and there will be more than 25 staff for the 200 kids we expect. We believe that Limmud works best when parents know that their kids’ Jewish life is being enhanced and nourished while they are having a great time themselves
All food and drink is included – all you have to do is bring them along – and share stories of all your favourite sessions and activities on the way home.
NEWS UPDATE! Cambridge Young Limmud is thrilled to offer participants this amazing opportunity- to see Adéle Geras and Inbali Iserles doing a joint presentation for the very first time!
Adéle and Inbali will be talking about all kinds of things: living in Jerusalem, writing books and how it's done, what sort of things give them ideas and so forth. They'll e also be reading short extracts from their work. They're very happy to answer questions during the two sessions (one for 8–10 years and one for 11–13) but they'd love to have some in advance from anyone who cares to send them in. Just email them to adele@adelegeras.com The more the merrier!
