Ben (Lior Ashkenazi, 'Walk on Water') has always affectionately entertained his son Eli's (Yuval Shevakh) mischievous behaviour. Their profound connection seems secure as Eli approaches his teenager years. But when the police arrest Ben under suspicion of bribery, Eli has to face the possibility that his father is morally fallible. Ravid's film about the conflict between disillusionment and faith delivers a touching story. (Director Ori Ravid, 2009 Israel. 89 minutes, Hebrew with English subtitles.)

Our session will deal with Jewish life in the Galilee in the past and present. Learn about various types of land in the Galil - volcanic basalt, calcite, dry and moist soil - and their influence on vegetation in the region. Olive trees produce world famous quality oil. Grapes from vineyards are cultivated for a variety of excellent Galilee wines. Come to taste and smell the fragrances of the Galil in joy and song.

Tzedek is the UK Jewish community's response to extreme poverty and after a rigorous and extensive study of life in our partnership region of Northern Ghana, we will be developing an innovative programme of educational renewal. This session will start with Jewish sources on education and then move on to how Tzedek is developing this new programme.

Homeopathy is now central to healthcare in many traditional Jewish communities and in Israel. The presenter will share stories of using homeopathy in a Jewish context and during life cycle events, with practical examples and opportunity for questions and discussion.

Come and explore the theme of light in texts from the Qur'an and the Tanach. Halima and Lindsey will each present texts from their own traditions, using classical commentaries and modern insights to deepen our understanding, and commenting on each other's texts. We'll investigate the impact of these texts on Islam and Judaism, and trace how mystics, liturgists, and scholars have meditated on them and developed them, sometimes in unexpected ways.

By stirring associations from within and propelling us toward the incomprehensible, symbolic language shows us the way towards God. Stories and rituals in the Torah can be understood as projections, like dreams, of God's 'mind' , so to speak. We will study the story of Ya'akov and Esau and discover how it is expressed in various rituals and in turn is a reflection of the Divine drama of creation.

A Rembrandt painting that hangs in the National Gallery provides a visual Midrash unlocking the significance of 'the writing on the wall'. But beyond that, is there embedded in this painting a valuable insight into the basis of the mind-change brought about by 'the Jewish revolution' in history? That being so, one could wonder: Must an artist or philosopher be Jewish in order to render a work 'Jewish Art' or 'Jewish philosophy'?
