Email no 18 - 1 December - What goes huh huh?

IN THUH NEWS

Email's late this week - as I was preparing it yesterday, I got a call to go live on the exciting Salaam Shalom Radio about the new musical talents that we've discovered.

The presenter loved Y-Love and DJ Handler, and wanted to know more - except I don't know hip hop from hop scotch.

Found it easier when we skipped to interfaith presenters including Guy Wilkinson (Archbishop of Canterbury's advisor) and Fiyaz Mughal (director of Faith Matters) - and the 'What happens when we pray?' multi-faith international project launching at Conference.

www.salaamshalom.org.uk (they'll be at Conference too)

Meanwhile, sharp spot to those who saw a selection of our programme in the JC last week, plus a feature on Sybil Sheridan, Rabbi of Wimbledon shul, who'll be one of our presenters.

Also in the headlines this week Efraim Zuroff, Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre's Israeli Office, www.tinyurl.com/22557g

Interested in being on the PR group? It's good to share these opportunities among volunteers. Let me know ...

CLOSING BUDGET ACCOMMODATION ON WEDNESDAY - TELL YOUR FRIENDS - HUHRRY

Numbers this week - 1929.

This means our budget accommodation - singles and twins - is nearly full.  But we thought it unfair to close the lowest pricing category without giving at least a bit of warning to volunteers.

So, we will be keeping this open until the end of Wednesday.

After that only family rooms (a few), ensuites and the last 20 or so hotel rooms will be remaining for new applications.

If you or your friends have not yet applied and want to take advantage of the lowest prices, then you will need to apply by the end of Wednesday. Please do spread the word to anyone you think may not have got round to it yet.

THE PROGRAMME IS COMPLETE - HIP HIP HUHRAY!

And now being typeset. I'll give you details on where to find it in my email next week. Congratulations to everyone involved.

LIMMUD HIHSTORY - BLACK AND WHITE INTO COLOUR AND HD

Got photos/good Limmud memories from the last 27 years? Share them!

Helena Miller helena.miller[at]ujia.org is assembling posters for an exhibition at Conference - so, if you've still got the programme book from 1996, then dig it out and your scan of the highlights page could join our archive.

FIRE TRAINING - HOHT

We're training a corps of fire marshals in the essentials of what to do in an emergency. The Steering Group has already enjoyed the course - and hands-on practice with extinguishers.

We've made arrangements for an extra training session in London and for this to be open to all volunteers.

16 December at 1.30pm at the London Jewish Cultural Centre (LJCC), Ivy House, 94-96 North End Road, London NW11 7SX (YADs will get this automatically as part of their training that day).
