There will be just one more email before Conference - to be live from the set-up team at Warwick. So please email me any memories, quotes from the year, more jokes etc, for a final 'wow'!
And I'm looking forward to meeting YADs on Sunday.
Like many of you, I'm realising that some things on my list have to give, and talking to others helps me see what's important and what's not.
So take time out in the next few days, relax and prepare yourself for the most exciting week of your year.
Job 10:10. Cheese. Gvina. Only time it appears in the Tanakh (bible) apparently.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES OF THE WEEK
Are you one of our 500+ participants planning to make morning or evening Chavruta part of your day? Lend the team a hand by being a facilitator ... conf07-chavruta[at]limmud.org
Contribute to the Daily Dif Daf - our reporters are going to be sniffing out stories at Conference, so if you've got some inside gossip or some story suggestions (or if you still want to take part or write a column) - difdaf[at]limmud.org
If you love sessions, help out with Limmud Journeys - our recording project. Sign up in advance, then collect an MP3 recorder. Your only task is to fill it with sessions by the end of the day. You can sign up for as many days as you want, and go to whichever sessions you want. We have six players, so need a lot of hands. This is probably the easiest and most fun volunteering job in the whole of Conference!
THE WEEK IN PRINT
Yes, the handbook's gone to print and the people who ordered advance copies should be receiving them in the next few days. Meanwhile, the full programme is now online at http://www.limmud.org/conference/programme/schedule
PRESENTER OF THE WEEK - SHLOMO RISKIN
Very last minute, delighted that we'll be joined by Shlomo Riskin, hugely influential rabbi who created the New York Lincoln Square Synagogue and who now lives in Efrat just outside Jerusalem. He decided to come as a result of our press coverage last week - excellent news.
NUMBERS OF THE WEEK
2,097 (and this email goes to an incredible 536 people!)
VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK - ZILA ORNSTEIN
Three cheers for Zila, who's in the JC as 'volunteer of the week'. Plus an article on YLove and DJ Handler.
Anyone can join the volunteer list even if you're not sure yet what you might do. Charles Darwish charlesdarwish[at]hotmail.com / Dan Musikant danw777@zoom.co.uk
JOKE OF THE WEEK - CHOOSE YOUR OWN FROM THESE THREE AWFUL SUBMISSIONS
Why did the pasty cross the road? Because it was meat'n potato :(
Man to his wife: Whatever happened to our sexual relations? Wife: No idea, they didn't even send me a card this year
Did you hear that crazy news story about the American guy who had his entire left side cut off? I don't know if it made the papers over there. Anyhow, he's all right now.
