Families at Limmud Conference

Conference is a fantastic opportunity for you and your family to learn and grow together and our aim is to make your experience as family-friendly as possible. We will do our best to provide you with the facilities you need and a first-rate programme for you and your children to enjoy.

It takes time to get to know the site, but this year the main family spaces will be concentrated in one area - the family zone - to make it as convenient as possible for you and your children.

With 2000 participants it's not easy to create a timetable that suits everyone, but we've designed it this year so that parents can attend as many sessions as possible.

We have some great new family-friendly features, including an all-new pyjama party, family kitchens and a family café area.

Accommodation and Facilities

For information on Family Accommodation at the University of Warwick please click here.

Younger families will be accommodated close to the crèche and family dining room. There will be a kitchen unit in each of the family halls with facilities for washing and sterilising bottles, making up formula and warming milk.

Older children and their parents will be accommodated close to the dining rooms and main Conference facilities.

If you would like to hire a cot for Conference you can book one via the application form.  We do not have any spare cots at Conference and will only be able to provide for those who have booked in advance.

We will provide children's menu options, high chairs and an early dinner for younger children.

The Crèche

The crèche is for all children of pre-nursery age (that is, whose third birthday is on or before 31 August). It will be open 12pm on Sunday throughout Conference until the programme finishes on Thursday afternoon. It will be staffed by our enthusiastic team of crèche workers, led by qualified and dedicated managers with separate rooms for 0-2s and 2-3s.

You will need to sign a consent form that will be sent to you by early November.  This will need to be returned with two photos of your child by 1st December 2007.

If you have any old toys that are still in good condition and would like to donate them to the Limmud creche, please email conf07-families@limmud.org

Young Limmud Minors

This year we are offering a new programme for pre-reception years (age 3-4).  We will ensure they will be given a structured day including play, making new friends, rest and being entertained by some special children's presenters.

Young Limmud Conference

This year, Young Limmud Conference will start with a breakfast club, including family chavruta (families learning together), arts and crafts and drama.  The rest of the days' highlights will include sports, presenters, learning, photography and filming, and much, much more.

Family Programming

When the crèche closes and the Young Limmud day ends we will offer sessions for the whole family to enjoy together, including concerts, films, drama and creative activities suitable for all ages. As usual, there will be a pyjama party for the younger children and new this year, a special night zone for older children (thirteen years and upwards).

Bedtime

When it comes to bedtime for your children it doesn't mean the day is over for you. We provide a free babysitting service for under-7's so you can enjoy the evening sessions or just soak up the atmosphere in the bar.

Our team of babysitters will sit outside your children's rooms and check on them regularly. Alternatively, you could arrange with other parents in your corridor to set up your own babysitting rota.

You'll be having much more fun than your babysitters so if you'd like to bring cushions, magazines, games, or even a DVD player to keep them comfortable and entertained, we're sure they will be very grateful.
