This year at Conference
Limmud Conference brings people of all ages and every perspective, from all over the UK and around the world together, with hundreds of presenters, a thousand conversations on every subject of interest to Jews – text study, music, theatre, literature, debate, politics – and wraps it up in a week of community, warmth, laughter, passion, excitement and discovery to take you one one step further on your Jewish journey.
Limmud is gloriously varied, reflecting the colourful diversity of participants, with sessions aimed at every level of Jewish learning and conducted in a lively range of styles. Click here to see the full list of presenters who are confirmed so far.
Conference isn't only about formal sessions. We're planning a whole host of social events so you'll have the best time possible. We think you’ll like what we’ve come up with.
There’s a lot to look forward to in this year’s programme – old favourites, as well as some exciting innovations.
The programme for families, and for children and young people is not an afterthought - it's designed and run by qualified youth workers and links with the main Conference programme.
Limmud L’am
Limmud L’am is an exciting new event running this year at Conference. “L’am” means “for the people”, and our aim in running this day is to ensure that any individual who would like to attend and participate in Conference is able to feel part of the Limmud community. We have a developed some sessions and support to enable adults with additional learning needs to access a day of Limmud conference.
Our hope is that this pilot will, in time, enable more days of conference to include specifically developed sessions, so that Limmud is accessible for more of our community. We also hope that other communities will be inspired and will share their experiences and join us in improving accessibility within their own organisations.
We’re pleased that those joining us for one day of Conference will be here on Tuesday, so will be able to join us in lighting the communal Chanukah for the last night of Chanukah. In addition, some sessions developed with those with learning disabilities in mind will be taking place (although all are welcome!), so look out for them in your handbook . Come along to find out more. In the meantime, if you bump in to any of our Limmud L’am participants, say hi!
