Leo Abrami teaches in Judaic Studies and Logotherapy (Viktor Frankl) in Phoenix, US.
Nathan Abrams is a lecturer in film studies and Director of Graduate Studies at the National Institute for Excellence in the Creative Industries at Bangor University. He has published widely on film and Jewish culture and his most recent book is 'Jews and Sex'.
Zubair Ahmed is a convener of the Scriptural Reasoning Society who has been studying the Holy Qur'an, the Holy Bible, comparative religion, and multi-faith dialogue for 30 years.
Lydia Aisenberg is a journalist, informal educator and special study tour guide in Israell. Lydia has been involved for the last 25 years in shared citizenship projects of the Givat Haviva Institute's International Department in Wadi Ara, central Israel.
Luke Akehurst is the first Director of the We Believe in Israel network, formed after this May's conference. A former Director at PR company Weber Shandwick, outside of work he is a member of the Labour Party National Executive and a Councillor in Hackney.
Muhammad Al-Hussaini is a Fellow in Islamic Studies at Leo Baeck College, where he teaches rabbis and rabbinical students classical study of the Quran relevant to Jewish-Muslim relations. He is also Lecturer in Abrahamic Religions at Al-Azhar College.
Stuart Altshuler has been Rabbi of Belsize Square Synagogue since January 2011. He was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary, New York, in 1980, has a Ph.D in Jewish history (Yale/JTS), and is author of FROM EXODUS TO FREEDOM: A HISTORY OF THE SOVIET JEWRY.
Gilad Amit was born and raised in Jerusalem, he worked as a teacher in an integrative high school in Jerusalem and studied education and mass media in the Hebrew University. He is currently working as a community Shaliach to the Leeds Jewish community.
Eli Amir is award-winning Iraqi-born Israeli author who served as Israeli Prime Minister’s Advisor on Arab Affairs in the 1960s.
Lene Rachel Andersen is a writer, philosopher, lecturer, creative consultant, and publisher in Denmark. Born in 1968 she grew up a Christian, studied business economy, wrote comedy for television, decided to become a pastor in the Danish church and studied theology.
Daniel Anderson is a life entrepreneur and co-founder of Tiferet, which offers an integrated approach to psychological and emotional health & wellbeing, based on the timeless wisdom of the Kabbalah.
Anthony Ashworth-Steen works as the United Jewish Israel Appeal Jewish Activities in Mainstream Schools (JAMS) Education Manager. Prior to working for UJIA, Anthony worked for Habonim Dror as Northern Fieldworker and Social Action worker.
Allan Arkush is Professor of Judaic Studies and History at the State University of New York at Binghamton. He writes about Enlightenment, Jewish Thought and Mysticism. He is the translator of Moses Mendelssohn’s Jerusalem and Gershom Scholem’s Origins of the Kabbalah. He has been a fellow at the Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and a Starr Fellow at Harvard University.
Mohmmed Aziz is the founding Chief Executive Officer of the Forum Against Islamophobia and Racism and the British Muslim Research Centre.
Chaim Bacon is an ex-professional photographer, now software entrepreneur. Chaim writes poetry, tells colourful stories of his life experiences and is something of a comedian. He's been involved with Reform, Masorti, Orthodox Judaism.
Yeshayahu Balog is a Yad Vashem adviser and former Rabbi in Germany.
Michelle Barnett is the dedicated Director of GIFT UK, a charity encouraging, inspiring and educating young people in the value of 'GIVING'.
Ruth Barnett was a former Kindertransportee, secondary teacher and Psychotherapist, now a freelance speaker on Understanding Trauma and Challenging Prejudice and Racism, has written two books.
Jeff Berger is a rabbi who has been coming to Limmud Conference since 2008. He was born in the USA and has lived in Japan, Israel and the UK. He serves the Rambam Sephardi Synagogue in Borehamwood & Elstree, a branch of the Spanish & Portuguese Jews' Congregation.
Michael Berkowitz is Professor of Modern Jewish history in the Department of Hebrew & Jewish Studies at University College London. His current research is on the engagement of Jews with photography.
Uri Berkowitz has enjoyed being a Limmud volunteer for over ten years. During that time he has learned about programming, signage, team-work, Shabbat, people management, community, training, geo-politics, timetabling and the powers of caffeine! He is currently the chair of Limmud International.
Carolyn Bogush is the global Chair of Limmud, with responsibility for overseeing all our volunteers and events, now in over 50 communities around the world. She has been volunteering with Limmud for more than 15 years.

Shmuley Boteach is an American Orthodox rabbi, author, TV host and public speaker. Among other books, Boteach wrote Kosher Sex: A Recipe for Passion and Intimacy, published in 1999, which openly discusses intimacy and sexual intercourse. His outspokenness has earned him praise and criticism; Newsweek magazine named him one of the 50 most influential rabbis in the United States three years in a row, including seventh in 2009.
Jonathan Boyd is Executive Director of the Institute for Jewish Policy Research. A former Mandel Institute Jerusalem Fellow, he is editor of 'The Sovereign and the Situated Self: Jewish Identity and Community in the 21st Century' and author of recent reports.
Shoshana Boyd-Gelfand is Director of JHub and acclaimed Jewish educator.
David Breakstone is a veteran Jewish educator who has dedicated his career to the theory and practice of teaching Israel as a central component of Jewish self-understanding. A leading figure of Masorti/Conservative Judaism worldwide, he represents this movement on the Executives of the Jewish Agency and World Zionist Organization.
Margaret Brearley is Chairman of Daphna WIZO, and is on the academic board of the London Jewish Cultural Centre. Formerly a lecturer in medieval and Renaissance German literature, Birmingham University.
Michael Brodsky is Director of Public Affairs at the Embassy of Israel, London. His experience spans economics, politics, press and public diplomacy. He holds a BA in Political Science and an MA in Diplomacy and National Security.
David Brody successfully sued the Quebec government for the survivor pension for same-sex couples.
Robert Brody has been involved in Synagogue Music for many years as occasional chazan at synagogues and as concert soloist in many countries. He has also been featured in recordings and broadcasts with the Zemel Choir and with the BBC Singers, on radio and on TV.
Betsy Brown is a school student with an interest in Fair Trade and the environment.
Felicity Brown is a teacher from New Zealand and a volunteer for Tzedek and the WJR in the capacity of knitting.
David Brown is Social Action Coordinator at JHub, working on Climate change and Fairtrade campaigns, David has written for the Jewish Quarterly and PresenTense. David is a bit of a Jewish geek (and proud of it!) and lives with his partner Adam.
Libby Burkeman works for Tzedek as Director of Education, educating the Jewish community about issues related to poverty and development. Libby also manages to keep busy in her spare time by being on the Limmud Executive supporting volunteers across the organisation.
Daniel Cainer is an experienced composer for TV, music producer, songwriter and broadcaster of topical songs which he performs weekly on BBC Radio London.
Ruth Calderon is the founder and Chairperson of Alma – the Home For Hebrew Culture (the "secular yeshiva") in Tel Aviv.
Michael Capek has been a GP in South Manchester for 26 years. He has a Masters degree in Health Psychology, works as GP with a special interest in Mental Health and has a practice in hypnotherapy. He is advisor to various health authorities.
Nathan Lopez Cardozo is Founder and Dean of the David Cardozo Academy.
David Century has enjoyed working with and learning from Limmud groups around the world as a trainer and volunticipantor at events. He was Limmud Conference co-chair in 2005, and then served on the Limmud Executive for four years, looking after Limmud’s finances.
Jaclyn Chernett is Founder and Director of Studies, European Academy for Jewish Liturgy, teaching inspired leaders of Synagogue prayer internationally. She was the first woman in the UK to be ordained as a Chazan (AJR, NY, 2006).
Anne Clark used to be Director of Jewish Resource Centre at the University of Roehampton, London. She has worked as a Jewish educator with Jews and non-Jews of all ages in various settings and is a UJIA Ashdown Fellow.
David Clark wrote his Phd on Jewish museums in Europe. He is a warden at Wimbledon Synagogue, trustee of Etz Hayyim Synagogue in Crete, member of Second Generation Network and involved in interfaith work.
Jane Clements works for The Forum for discussion of Israel and Palestine which seeks to promote and facilitate dialogue between Christians, Jews and Muslims in the UK on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Jane serves on the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Anglican Commission to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and is a Trustee of the UK’s Holocaust Memorial Day Trust.
Sam Clifford is Manager of LEAD: Jewish Leadership Excellence and Development. Sam has previously worked for UJIA and Jewish Care in leadership and programme development. Sam has an MA in Applied Anthropology, Community and Youth Work from Goldsmiths University.
Ronnie Cohen is a metric campaigner and serves on the Committee of the UK Metric Association. He is committed to seeing the completion of the UK Metrication Programme that was started in 1965.
Samantha Cohen is a Bnei Akiva girl, an Edgware girl, a Shlicha Tzibor (service leader) on Rosh Hashana and Kol Nidrei, a captain of a Maccabbi table tennis team, a mummy to Eden and Blu, and partner of Natalie since they met at Limuud Conference 1997.
Nurith Cohen has a degree in Hebrew and Jewish studies and is a Susi Bradfield fellow. She teaches in schools and ulpanim and tutors for Bat Mitzvah and Hebrew exams. Born in Haifa, Israel, she is an active member of Woodside Park Synagogue.
Adrian Cohen is a founder member and currently chairman of the London Jewish Forum, founded in 2005 to promote the civic engagement of London's Jewish Community with the Mayor of London and local London government.
Nina Collins has published on textual problems in Jewish and Christian literature. Her book, The Library in Alexandria and the Bible in Greek, fixes the date of the translation of the Torah into Greek, a seminal event in Jewish history.
Russell Collins by day Russell works with the NHS and local government but at night time he get excited by social stuff, community stuff, local stuff, health & wellbeing stuff, Jewish stuff, open stuff, participatory stuff and other stuff!
Ilana Conway has been belly dancing for seven years, when not occupied with the day job in media promotions and journalism, in London! She has performed both solo and with groups, and is looking forward to introducing Limmud-goers to a fun and funky way of dance.
Helen Coren is a healing sound practitioner, inspired by the Heartsongs of Israel. She uses drum and voice to promote Joy, Love, Unity and Return. Her work remains true to the essence of practical Kabbalah but travels beyond religious or political views.
Elinor Corfan is a graduate of Edinburgh University Medical School, was a specialist in community medicine, lecturing to undergraduate and post-graduate students and undertaking research. She lectures on the West Midland circuit on medical and non-medical subjects.
Leibel Cowan provides education, integration opportunities and ongoing support to individuals with learning disabilities and to their families at Kisharon. Leibel has worked with both children and adults at every level and now delivers tailor-made programmes.
Tim Cowen is a barrister who lives in Highgate. He is an enthusiastic chess player. Tim also teaches at the London School of Jewish Studies (LSJS).
Benjamin Crowne studied at Yeshivat Netiv Aryeh and at Cambridge University. While Education Officer at Cambridge JSoc he developed "Commentator and Cake", "Parsha Nuts" and other snack-based study programmes. He has taught at LSJS and various London synagogues.
Gabby Dagan left Orthodoxy after growing up in a Moroccan-Iranian Orthodox family, attending B’nei Akiva Yeshivah and serving as a rabbi in the Israeli Defence Forces. He co-founded a non-governmental organisation promoting multiculturalism and after getting smicha from Hebrew Union College is now Rabbi at Ohel Avraham, a Reform synagogue in Haifa.
Mohammed Dajani is Director of the Center for the Advancement of Peace and Democracy at Al Quds University.
Sharon Daniels worked within Jewish social care services and youth groups for 20 years, she is currently leading the Judith Trust Inclusion Campaign, working to make communities from across the religious spectrum more accessible to people with learning disabilities.
Aviva Dautch works as a creative educator for the British Library and is reading for a PhD in contemporary poetics. She regularly writes book reviews for a number of publications, and her own poems are published internationally in magazines.
Sergio DellaPergola is a leading authority in the demography and statistics of the Jewish people.
Selwyn Dorfman writes a regular column for the Manchester Jewish Telegraph and has been speaking to non-Jewish audiences and individuals for several years. He brings a fresh and humorous approach to pro-Israel advocacy.
Uri Dromi is spokesperson for the Rabin and Peres governments and Director General of Jerualem’s Mishkenot Sha’ananim promoting dialogue, tolerance and coexistence.
Gregg Drinkwater is a senior staffer at Keshet, a U.S.-based Jewish LGBT organization. He is the co-editor of the book "Torah Queeries: Weekly Commentaries on the Hebrew Bible" (NYU Press, Sept. 2009). Drinkwater is also president of Limmud Colorado and will soon be a student in the ALEPH Rabbinic Program.
Gili Dvash was born in Mitzpe Ramon, in the Negev. She’s recently started her job as shlicha for FZY, and is working with the northern groups. She has been part of the Israeli scouts, and served in the IDF spokesperson unit for three years.
Robbie Duschinsky is Senior Lecturer in Social Science for Social Work at the University of Northumbria. He has published articles on social and anthropological theory, philosophy, the sociology of childhood and qualitative research methods.
Miriam Edelman is an organisational psychologist and management consultant in the investment industry, Miriam also teaches at Wimbledon cheder (which makes her a much better consultant).
Mohamed Elsharkawy is Vice-Chair of Children of Abraham, the national body for rabbis and imams, and architect of the Banu Ibrahim Declaration on Muslim-Jewish-Christian dialogue.
Louise Ellman has been the MP for Liverpool-Riverside for 14 years and is a council member of the Holocaust Education Trust as well as vice chair of Labour Friends of Israel, and chair of the Jewish Labour Movement.
Danny Epstein of Efrat Teaches Halacha and Jewish Thought at Nishmat's Advanced Torah Study Center for Women in Jerusalem and at Yeshivat HaMivtar in Efrat, and has challenged students in California, Vancouver and Israel to find both their personal voice and contemporary meaning in the study of Jewish texts.
Yaffa Epstein teaches Talmud, Jewish Law, and Liturgy at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies. Yaffa is a member of the Israeli Bar, and studied at the Pardes Kollel, and the Advanced Talmud Institute at Matan.
Nadav Eyal is Chief News Editor for Israel’s Channel 10, Senior columnist for Ma’ariv daily newspaper, former news correspondent in Uk for Israeli news and covers politics, social issues and international news.
Alastair Falk is Director of Educational Leadership at UJIA and the lead professional for the JLC’s Jewish Schools Strategy. He has been a Headteacher of two Jewish schools and an Academy.
Marvin Feuer is Director of Policy and Government Affairs at AIPAC. Previousl he served in senior staff positions on Capitol Hill and in the executive branch. Until 2006, he was an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University SAIS.
Linda Finck is a poet and artist and graphic novelist. In 2009, Liana studied at Université de La Cambre in Belgium on a Fulbright Fellowship that sponsored her creation of a graphic novel based on Tintin creator Georges Remi’s bad dreams.
Robert Fine is a British sociologist and leading European scholar on the history of social and political thought, cosmopolitan social theory, the social theory of Karl Marx and Hannah Arendt, the Holocaust and contemporary antisemitism, crimes against humanity and human rights. He is a Professor Emeritus at Warwick University.
Andy Finkel is a 53-year old solicitor from Dublin now living in west London, a member of Holland Park Sephardi synagogue. He is a veteran Limmudnik and has presented his quirky brand of songs and poems previously at Limmud Conference.
Ellen Flax directs the Schusterman Rabbinical Fellowship and is a New York City-based consultant to nonprofits and foundations. For the past three years, she has been a member of Limmud's International Chavruta Project team.

Flora Frank is a married, grandmother and young great grandmother and (Adult) educator/lecturer. Flora taught at JFS, Hasmonean and Immanuel College. Is a Deputy for British Emunah - Board of Deputies, and is involved in Community and Environmental issues.
Stephen Franklin has a long family history of association with the Yishuv, including Sir Moses Montefiore, Herbert Samuel and more. He read Politics, Economics and International Relations at the Hebrew University from 1973-1976 and has had a career as investment banker.
Paul Freedman studied Physics at Bristol, Education at Cambridge and for the rabbinate at Leo Baeck College. He is married to Vanessa, father of Katie and Joshua, and Rabbi of Radlett & Bushey Reform Synagogue and lectures in Biblical Hebrew at LBC.
Vanessa Freedman is the Hebrew and Jewish Studies Librarian at University College London. She studied Classics at Cambridge University, Library and Information Studies at UCL, and Judaism in various places, including the Liberal Yeshivah in Jerusalem.
Daniel Braune Friedman grew up in New York and received his BA from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He attended Yeshivat Darchei Noam, Ohr Sameach, and later completed his rabbinical studies at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah.

Wayne Firestone is President of Hillel, the largest Jewish campus organization in the world.
Lorna Fitzsimons is CEO of BICOM (Britain Israel Communication), former NUS president and Labour MP.
Rebecca Joy Fletcher is an International Jewish Cabaret performer, actress, playwirght and Cantor.
Matti Fruhman runs TAG ID which utilises unique Israeli knowledge in developing countries. Previously, Matti worked at the Department of Education and the Rothschild Foundation. He has an MSc in Operations Management from Manchester Business School.
Ian Gamse has been active in Jewish education since the 1980s when he became the first full-time UJS education worker, and taught at Limmud’s first beit midrash. He studied at Yeshivat Or Etzion before reading Mathematics and Hebrew at Cambridge.
Tova Garr is the Director of Youth at The Jewish Education Project in NY. Prior to moving to the US she worked for the Jewish Agency, Ramah, Young Judea and the Melton Center. She loves talking about anything that has to do with Teens, Creativity, Israel Education.
Joshua Garroway teaches Early Christianity and Second Commonwealth in LA. He was ordained by HUC-JIR in Cincinnati and earned a doctorate in Religious Studies from Yale.
Hannah Gaventa graduated from Kings College London and interned with the Three Faiths Forum before joining Tzedek in September.
Nick Gendler is a Counsellor, Career Coach, Cyclist and Contrabassist. Nick is also a lay leader at New North London Synagogue and a member of the Assembly of Masorti Synagogues council.
Benjamin Gerber is an autodidactic educator who has been engaging adults in Jewish learning for over 13 years, works with Jewish communities all over Sweden. He is currently pursuing a degree in Religious Studies. Benjamin has humbly set his sights on rabbinic ordination.
Anna Gerrard was ordained as a rabbi by Leo Baeck College in July 2011, having spent half her studies in Jerusalem at the Conservative Yeshiva, Hebrew Union College and Schechter. Anna works for Liberal Judaism's Rabbinic Team with responsibility for Young Adults.
Zippi Gershon studied criminology and social policy at Loughborough University, Zippi joined Tzedek and is particularly interested in volunteering and Fundraising.
Andrew Gilbert is Chair of the Informal Education Committee of UJIA, Chair of the Programme Steering Group of THE JCC, Trustee of London Jewish Forum & Committee of "We Believe in Israel". Andrew chaired Limmud 1990-97 & Limmud International 2005-09.
Shiri Gilbert is Jewish Studies professor at Southampton University who specialises in musical history and the holocaust.
Talia Gillis studied law and economics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In 2010 she clerked for Justice Hanan Melcer at the Israeli Supreme Court. Talia is currently reading for the BCL, a graduate law degree, at Oxford University.

Dan Glass is one of the network developers for Plane Stupid in the UK, and a key organiser to build a network of communities to take direct action against the impacts of the aviation industry and brings together anti-racism, anti-poverty and anti-climate change struggles across the UK together to take united action.
Claire Godley is the Education Coordinator at JWA presenting domestic violence prevention programmes in schools. She has worked extensively in the world of youth and education, in organisations including Maccabi GB, The Children’s Society and Solace Women’s Aid.
Trudy Gold is Executive Director of the London Jewish Cultural Centre and senior lecturer in Jewish history which she has taught for over 25 years. She is editor in chief of the teaching resource pack "Lessons of the Holocaust".
Zelig Golden is founding co-director of Wilderness Torah, which reconnects Judaism to the cycles of nature. As Maggid, wilderness guide and attorney, he brings over a decade of visionary leadership to the Jewish environmental movement.

Nicky Goldman is Director of LEAD: Jewish Leadership Excellence and Development. Nicky has worked in the Jewish community for over 25 years in leadership and community development, family education and HR. Nicky has an MA in Jewish Communal Service from the Hornstein Programme.
Aaron Goldstein is Senior Rabbi of Northwood & Pinner Liberal Synagogue. He is committed to developing an open and inclusive community and welcoming all Jews, their non-Jewish spouses or partners and children.
Mark Goldsmith is a rabbi at Alyth (North Western Reform Synagogue), teaches at West Hampstead Yeshivah and is also current Chair of the Assembly of Reform Rabbis UK. He loves studying and teaching Jewish Business Ethics.
Roy Graham is Director of Strategy at the JCC who is committed to engaging with the whole community, Jewish and otherwise, allowing all who are interested to experience and enjoy Jewish life through a 21st century lens.
Michael Grant has been fascinated by languages, Semitic or otherwise. Despite lacking any formal training in linguistics, he was once commissioned or at least asked to write a book of ancient Carthaginian baby names.
Natalie Grazin is thrilled to be at her 17th Conference, along with her partner Samantha and her two young children. A former Limmud Conference Chair, she is a founder member of Avot ve Imahot, the new network for same-sex Jewish parents.
Bianca Green first got involved with Limmud by working in the office back in 2008. She absolutely loved it and hasn't looked back since, going on to join both Fest and Conference teams and finally co-chairing Limmud Fest this summer.
Tzvia Greenfield was the first female Haredi Knesset member in Israel’s history.
Michael Greilsammer and Band are a unique Israeli based band which combines Irish fiddle with reggae beats.
Joel Grishaver has taught at a lot of Limmud conference in the UK and around the world. He is a writer, teacher, cartoonist, and storyteller, who specializes in making Talmud and other Jewish text accessible.
Mariette Groenenboom integrates a professional background in Social Work, Information Management and Youth Education with a passion for music, Kabbalah and other sources on human consciousness in ‘Zivaya Playshops’, educational projects with storytelling and music.
Gavin Gross is the former Director of Public Affairs at Britain's Zionist Federation (ZF). Originally from New York City, he made aliyah in 2008 and has lived in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Henry Grunwald is the former President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and previously chaired the Jewish Leadership Council. After the conclusion of his second term as President he was appointed the President of World Jewish Relief.
Caroline Hagard teaches Gan (kindergarten) at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue and Edgware and District Reform Synagogue religion schools. An accomplished Story Teller, writer of Jewish songs she also writes/runs children's services for the High Holy days/chagim.
Tanya Harris is responsible for ensuring that JAMI offers a high quality service which meets the mental health needs of the community. These range from education and training about mental health awareness, supporting carers and the most vulnerable people in our services.
Michael Harris is Rabbi of Hampstead United Synagogue since 1995, Michael is also a Research Fellow at LSJS and an Affiliated Lecturer in the Divinity Faculty at Cambridge University.
Elizabeth Harris-Sawczenko is the Public Affairs Director at the Board of Deputies of British Jews. In her previous role as a Director within the New Israel Fund’s Jerusalem office, Elizabeth gained unique insights into all aspects of Israeli society.
Aaron Hartman has played in genre-bending musical groups on the K Records label in Olympia, Washington since 1995. He plays bass and spins records in Portland, Oregon and Brooklyn, New York, where he lives with his wife, Alicia Jo Rabins.
Judith Hauptman is the Professor of Talmud and Rabbinic Culture at The Jewish Theological Seminary. She is widely published, including: "Women and Prayer: An Attempt to Dispel Some Fallacies”, "A Time to Mourn, A Time to Heal" "Judaism and a Just Economy.

Naftali Moses holds a doctorate in medical history from Bar-Ilan University. He made aliyah nearly thirty years ago, first arriving in Jerusalem to study at Pardes.
