Coming as a family?

What about family accommodation?

• Family accommodation – for families with children under 14 – is in the Scarman Building, close to Young Limmud and the crèche, and consists of ensuite rooms with double beds

• Scarman is on three levels and has a lift; families with babies and younger children will be situated on the lower floors

• Unfortunately there aren’t any inter-connecting rooms, but your rooms will be adjacent to each other

• We’ll allocate one room for every two people in your party – ie a family of three or four will get two double rooms, a family of five will get three and so on

• Please note that children under the age of 16 months will not be allocated their own room and you’ll need to bring a travel cot for them; we have a small number of travel cots that you can hire from us – please tell us on your application.

• We do understand that some parents would prefer their child to be with them in their room even if they are older than 16 months; in these cases you may want to bring an airbed with you – you will still be allocated two rooms (so we comply with Warwick’s fire regulations and occupancy limits) and you can use the bedding from that room

• If you prefer not to share a room or double bed, or if you’re a single parent with an older child, we can provide you with additional rooms, subject to availability, for a nominal surcharge of £100

• We’ll locate families with children over 14 closer to the Conference venues; this accommodation will all have shared facilities. If you want to upgrade to ensuite, you can - please call the office (+44 (0)20 3115 1620) for a price

What about children in the evenings?

Families with children in year 3 and below
• We offer a listening service from 7:30 pm to 11:15 pm each evening, Sunday to Wednesday
• Babysitters will sit outside the room and each sitter will cover a small number of families, alerting you if they think there is a cause for concern
• Please ensure that your child is settled before you leave for the evening and please return promptly – all the sitters are unpaid volunteers

Families with children in years 3 to 8
• Night Club offers a more relaxed evening version of Young Limmud

Families with older children and teenagers
• Are welcome to participate in the main evening Conference programme
• There will also be a dedicated chill-out space for those in years 9 to 12.

I’m 16. Can I come to Conference alone?

If you’re 16 or 17 and you want to come without a parent or guardian please call the Limmud office +44 (0)20 3115 1620 and we’ll talk about it.

What about Shabbat?

As usual, there will be an eruv (Shabbat boundary) and most Shabbat participants will be accommodated inside the boundary. Unfortunately, it’s not practical for us to extend the eruv to the family and hotel accommodation, so they will be outside the boundary. There will, however, be facilities to leave possessions like siddurim and buggies inside the eruv.
